Connection types and peer allowlists
The three-level taxonomy that decides which nodes may connect to which.
Connections are classified on three levels: connection major (L1), connection domain (L2), and the GraphVM node type (L3). Together they describe what a port speaks, and they drive the peer allowlists the editor enforces when you draw an edge.
- Use the reference when choosing a node from the palette — it shows what a node type can be wired to.
- When an edge is refused, compare the two nodes' majors and domains; a mismatch there is the usual cause.
- Different connection kinds bring different inspector fields: an HTTP/REST connection asks for different things than a SQL, GraphQL, queue, or file-transfer connection.
